Event Description:
Middletown’s bravest firefighters from Local 1073 are back for the15th annual Tip a Firefighter event to earn tips which will be donated to MARC Community Resources to benefit programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
One September 30th, members of Middletown Firefighters Local 1073 are volunteering their time to help serve lunch and dinner to guests at Tuscany Grill in Middletown. All of the tips that they receive will be donated to MARC and will be used to fund enhance programs and services.
This year’s Tip a Firefighter event will kick-off open registration for MARC’s spring rappelling event and will feature a rock-climbing wall from 4-7 pm and music entertainment from 96.5 TIC FM. On Saturday, April 29, 2017 individuals who have reached their fundraising goal will rappel down the State House Square building in Hartford. Proceeds raised from this event will support enhanced programs a services for people with disabilities. Information about this rappelling event will be available a Tip a Firefighter.
“We are extremely grateful to the firefighters for their support over these past 15 years. In just the past three years, this event has raised nearly $50,000,” says Lori Lodge, Director of Development. “We invite everyone to come on down to Tuscany Grill on Friday, September 30th for lunch, dinner, or happy hour. Learn more about our upcoming rappelling event, enjoy the rock wall and entertainment and of course, leave the firefighters a big tip!”
All firefighter tips will benefit MARC Community Resources. MARC serves more than 200 people with disabilities in residential, vocational, leisure and self-advocacy programs throughout Middlesex and Hartford Counties. Event sponsors include: Dzailo, Pickett & Allen, P.C., Greenwald Industries, Middlesex Hospital and Kiwanis Club of Middletown.
