CROMWELL COLLEGE ALUMNA CONTINUES QUEST TO RAISE $1 MILLION FOR LUSTGARTEN 18-HOLE-STROLL FOR PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH IN MEMORY OF HER FATHER
10th Annual 18-Hole-Stroll at the Travelers Championship on The Way to Hit One-Million-Dollar Milestone Cromwell, CT, April 5, 2019
On Sunday, June 23rd, 23-year-old Brittany Vose will host the 10th annual Lustgarten18-Hole-Stroll at the Travelers Championship, a PGA TOUR event. The nine previous 18-Hole-Strolls have collectively raised more than half-a-million dollars, with donations going to the Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research and the only non-profit where 100% of every dollar goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.
This year, Brittany hopes to draw more attendees to the walk to help her reach her ultimate goal of raising one-million-dollars for pancreatic cancer research.
“I have a personal connection to this walk and this disease, and I am honored that the walk is now in its 10th year and that we have been able to raise such an impressive amount for pancreatic cancer research,” said Brittany Vose, who created this event in 2009 when she was just 13 years old. Brittany started the 18-Hole-Stroll, an early morning walk at TPC River Highlands Golf Course during the Travelers Championship, in honor of her father, John Vose, who died of pancreatic cancer when she was just five years old and he was only 44.
Event registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Early bird registration is $40 per adult. After May 1st,the fee is $50 per adult, and $15 per child (15 and younger). Registration includes an all-day pass for entrance to the tournament for Championship Sunday, continental breakfast, entertainment, purple t-shirt representing pancreatic cancer research, speakers and a silent auction. All attendees should wear their t-shirt at the 18th hole during the awards ceremony.
