Bring it To The Light Events and Powder Ridge Mountain Park presents Bring it to the light music festival on August 31, 2019. The festival is designed to raise public awareness to the opioid crisis through music and education. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Rushford. Rushford is one of Connecticut's leading providers of addiction and mental health treatment programs for teens and adults. Experts from Rushford and other
health care professionals will be speaking on today’s opioid use and support options.
Bring It To The Light Events was founded by Bill Reaney in June 2018. Bill has experienced the heartbreak of addiction and the difficulties of recovery firsthand with his son. Fortunately, he is one of the lucky ones, his son has been in recovery for 2 years and is a major contributor in Arizona helping others battling addiction. Bill retired from his job of 37 years to help raise
awareness and make a positive impact on the opioid crisis. In May 2018, Clockhead Productions in Glastonbury, Connecticut produced a song written by Bill which he dedicated to his son. The song, titled “Addiction” was a catalyst for the formation of Bring It to The Light Events, L.L.C. Bill
is using this organization as a way of engaging public support so urgently needed to help reduce the impact of the opioid crisis and bring hope to families suffering from its impact.
All are welcome to help support the cause and enjoy a day of music.
The Festival kicks off at 11 am with opening ceremonies & CT’s top bands. American Amnesia, Eight to the Bar & BRB Reaney blues will be preforming throughout the day as well as a vendor village and mountain sports (disc golf, zip lining, tubing) are available for purchase. Bring It to The Light Events aims to educate the public and raise awareness around the Opioid Crisis through fundraising to help support agencies fighting the opiate crisis, schools and non-profit hospitals.
Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort is the first full service year-round urban mountain sports park and resort, featuring skiing, snowboarding, tubing, mountain biking and synthetic snow adventures for all ages. The facility has become one of Connecticut’s premier event venues. Weddings, special occasion, cultural and sports events are hosted year-round. The 225-
acre facility is centrally located in the heart of Connecticut at the junction of all the major throughways, providing easy access to the over 23 million people within a 90-mile radius.
