  • 5:50 to 6:00 attendees vote
  • 6:00 Winners are announced!
The four startups that will be pitching are:

Gathr

We are lonelier than ever before, and it’s wreaking havoc on our mental health as a society. Heavy urbanization and digitization have eroded the community bonds that we once had. They are still an essential part of life, but the systems by which we accessed them have become much scarcer than before. Our mission is to reconnect communities around home dining tables.

Gathr is a social dining platform for home cooks to organize small communal meals connecting guests around their home dining table. These meals seat 6 to 8, and are a chance for people to connect over food together.
We structure the social experience through Circles, which organize meals through different communities (like Entrepreneurs & Makers, Moms, or Grief & Loss), and Bread Breakers (our own brand of ice-breaker questions designed around connection).

CT Film Initiative

The social adversities and difficulties that are plaguing our American communities require an urgent call to action. Those working through serious afflictions including addiction and domestic violence deserve to not only have their voices heard, but a therapeutic means to heal. The Film For Therapy division of our statewide film initiative allows us to be the voice for these causes through meaningful film pieces that unmask social issues while providing an artistic outlet for those in peril.

We offer paying jobs for creatives of every niche, to develop and distribute films with a strong social message. CTFI fosters togetherness through the production of our original films that best showcase the talents of up and coming East Coast artists while encouraging the growth of lucrative film-making job opportunities. But, what particularly sets us apart from the mission of other production companies is our Film For Therapy social movement. This makes our process two-fold. While, yes, we are focused on the economic development of the state, we also seek to create a safe and therapeutic space for those overcoming afflictions. Our Film For Therapy movement partners us with Non-Profit organizations that are in need of a voice for social change.

Rapid Patient Mover

Our Rapid Patient Mover (RPM) addresses the problem of quickly and efficiently removing patients from any environment. First developed for the unique demands of an active shooter incident, the RPM has found applicability to a broad range of patient evacuation and moving situations. The RPM is the only patient handling device that can be efficiently deployed under a patient without having to lift or roll them first and uniquely addresses the shortcomings of both traditional hard and soft patient carriers.
