Based on his farm in Plainfield, CT, Nick Anderson & Shady Creek play Bluegrass music that keeps the traditional sound alive and well.
Entertaining folks with the “high lonesome sound” has been a passion for Nick and has helped keep the band together through numerous changes for more than thirty years. The band has played a variety of festivals, fairs and concert venues throughout the Northeast and Canada.
Nick captures the essence of Bluegrass with drive, soulful singing and a genuine love for the music. He is considered “one of the top traditional Bluegrass singers in New England”, and recently inducted into the Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance Hall of Fame.
As well as singing lead, tenor and covering rhythm guitar in Shady Creek, Nick has penned more than a few songs that the band performs, and which have appeared on the band’s recordings over the years. The original titles add another dimension to the otherwise solid traditional repertoire of the band.
